LaTara Laster
Principal
Principal
Greetings Garehime Families,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Garehime Elementary School. I am excited to join the Garehime community and continue our work to build a school of academic excellence while honoring the strength of student citizenship. As the parent of three children ages twenty-six, twenty-four, and fourteen, I recognize the importance of a solid educational
foundation. Educators must understand our students and families and use that information to drive instruction. I am ready to work collaboratively with each of you to solve our students challenges and celebrate their successes.
I am a leader who is not afraid to take risks while being transparent in my endeavors. I always put the needs of students first. I have fostered my understanding of students needs and the systems required to support them in my journey of over twenty-five years in education.
As a proud graduate of the Clark County School District, I have a personal interest in ensuring that our students receive a first-rate education. I am intentional about how students are served to enter their next level of education, ready to meet the demands of secondary school. I recognize the importance and opportunity to cement students trajectories during elementary school and
look forward to expanding those opportunities for our students. My focus is on strengthening what is already being done at Garehime and working with each of you to introduce innovative strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
As the principal, I empower teachers to seek new and innovative ways to guide students toward success. I am dependable, accountable, and approachable to all who enter the building. I welcome the opportunity to work with the Garehime community to be innovative risk-takers who enjoy the learning experience and inspire those around them to do the same.
