Ryan Lewis is the principal of Edith Garehime Elementary School. Mr. Lewis has been an educator in the Clark County School District for 13 years with experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in a variety of schools in our valley.
Prior to moving to Las Vegas, Mr. Lewis was born and raised in Iowa. After completing his undergraduate degree at Simpson College, he taught multiple elementary grades and coached junior high and high school sports for six years. During that time Mr. Lewis earned his masters degree in educational administration from the University of Northern Iowa.
Mr. Lewis enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter when not tending to business at school. He particularly enjoys outdoor activities and looks forward to riding RAGBRAI (Registers Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) each summer.
Mr. Alan Alden is the new assistant principal of Edith Garehime Elementary School. Mr. Alden has been in the Clark County School District for 8 years.
Mr. Alden began working for the district as a substitute teacher while working towards his degree, then he reached his goal of becoming a classroom teacher, became a learning strategist, continued his education, and then became an Assistant Principal. He is very proud to be a part of the Clark County School District.
After attending CSN for a few semesters, he went to University of Phoenix to obtain his bachelor's degree in elementary education. He then attended WGU where he earned a masters in Curriculum and Instruction, and then in Educational Leadership. His family moved to the Las Vegas area from California when he was 5. He is a proud product of the Clark County School District. Mr. Alden's most favorite thing to do, when he is not at Garehime Elementary, is to spend time with his family.
